A facelift, also called rhytidectomy, is one of the most complete approaches to treating aging skin. It removes excess skin and tightens the tissues and muscles underneath.
The advantages of having a facelift are that it can improve many areas of the face in one procedure and make you look years younger. The effects will also last for around 10 years.
Preparing for Face Lift:
-
Avoid taking medication that increases blood loss (example aspirin)
-
Stop smoking
-
Make lifestyle changes

AM I ELIGIBLE?
Step 1 - Anesthesia
Medications are administered for your comfort during the surgical procedure. Your doctor will recommend the best choice for you.
Step 2 - The Incision
Depending on the degree of change you’d like to see, your facelift choices include a traditional facelift, limited incision facelift or a neck lift.
Traditional Facelift
A traditional facelift incision often begins in the hairline at the temples, continues around the ear and ends in the lower scalp.
Limited Incision
An alternative to a traditional facelift uses shorter incisions at the temples, continuing around the ear and possibly within the lower eyelids or under the upper lip.
Neck Lift
Sagging jowls, loose neck skin and fat accumulation under the chin may be corrected with a neck lift. The neck lift incision often begins in front of the ear lobe and wraps around behind the ear ending in the lower scalp.
Step 3 - Closing the Incisions
Once healed, the incision lines from a facelift are well concealed within the hairline and in the natural contours of the face and ear.
Step 4 - See the results.

Post procedure care
After your surgery, you will need to wait for a month before you color your hair, or do it just before surgery. Stock up with nutritious food including fruit, vegetables and lean protein to assist healing. Avoid salt as it increases swelling.
-
Get plenty of rest and do not do any housework, exercise, heavy lifting or hot saunas or showers for 2 to 3 weeks.
-
Do not drive, or do any heavy lifting for the first week, and swimming and strenuous activities should be avoided for at least a month.
-
Do not wear make-up until you have been told you can. It will be at least 6 months before your facelift heals completely, both inside and out.
